Supporting PDACL

Volunteering

There are many ways you can volunteer with PDACL. Some of those opportunities include: becoming a Board Member, serving on a Committee (Finance, Fundraising, Policy, Building/Joint Building, Restructuring, Housing, Web Team), We also support the Nursing Students from VIU doing their practicums, and also Katimavik Participants fulfilling their volunteer hours.

We welcome you to contact the Executive Director for further information and to learn how you can lend a hand in our programs.  Or contact the Board to become involed in one of the many aspects of the volunteer management processes at PDACL.

Thrifty Smile Card Program

communitysmilecardThe THRIFTY SMILE CARD is a great way to help in funding PDACL.  It is easy and painless!  Basically the idea is that Thrifty Foods will donate a percentage of your qualified spending to PDACL.  This amount is transferred on a monthly basis.
Here is how it works:

  1. OBTAIN a Thrifty Card from the Executive Director of PDACL. *See contact info. below.
  2. SHOP for your grocery items, proceed to checkout.
  3. ADD any amount of money to the card at the store by cash, cheque, debit or credit card prior to purchasing your groceries, let's say $200.
  4. PURCHASE your groceries using the SMILE card, this gives 5% cash of your total purchase to the PDACL.Cheques are given to PDACL on a monthly basis.
  5. Whenever you have a ZERO ($0) balance remaining or your card, it can be increased at any time.
  6. Now it's on your way to THRIFTY's in your vehicle, because it's that easy!
  7. NO! It doesn't cost you a thing!
